Height reference tables for children by age and sex, with detailed pages for selected ages, and adult tables for men and women further down this page.
Children's values under 2 years come from the World Health Organization Child Growth Standards and are lengths measured lying down; from 2 to 20 years they come from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 2000 growth charts and are standing heights. These tables describe a reference population and do not predict one person's final height; for an estimate for one child, use the height predictor.

Men's height by age group
The median height of men is 176.1 cm at ages 20–29 and 169.9 cm at 80 and older. The middle half (25th to 75th percentile) spans 9.7 cm in the youngest group. Each age group is a different set of people measured in the same survey period, so the difference between groups is not the change in one person's height over time.

For women the median is 163.3 cm at ages 20–29 and 156.9 cm at 80 and older, 12.8 cm below the men's median in the youngest group.
